| 2-day training for Census 2027 Phase-II concludes | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, Aug 12: The two-day training programme for Census 2027 Phase II, with special focus on enumeration in snow-bound and difficult-to-access areas, concluded today at Kathua.
The concluding session was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Kathua and Principal Census Officer Rajesh Sharma, who emphasised the need for meticulous planning, accurate enumeration and strict adherence to the prescribed Census procedures to ensure complete and reliable coverage of the population in snow-bound areas.
Addressing the participants, the Principal Census Officer stressed the importance of advance preparedness and effective field-level coordination, particularly in view of the logistical and operational challenges involved in conducting enumeration in remote and snow-bound areas. He urged the Census functionaries to discharge their assigned responsibilities with utmost diligence and ensure accuracy at every stage of the enumeration process.
The training sessions were conducted by Sanjay Sharma and Seirin Kohli, Resource Officers from the Directorate of Census Operations, J&K, who provided detailed guidance on various aspects of Census 2027 Phase II, with particular emphasis on operational procedures, field-level preparedness and challenges likely to be encountered during enumeration in snow-bound and difficult-to-access areas.
DSEO Kathua and Additional District Census Officer, Sidharth Anand, was also present on the occasion and interacted with the participants regarding field preparations and requirements for the smooth conduct of the Census operations.
The training provided the Census functionaries an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the prescribed procedures, clarify queries and gain practical insights into the enumeration process. The participants were urged to maintain the highest standards of accuracy, ensure complete coverage and adhere strictly to the Census guidelines while carrying out their field responsibilities |
