Training Programme for Krishi Udyamis of KKGs organised

REASI, Aug 19: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Jammu (SKUAST-J) and Department of Agriculture, Reasi organised training programme for Krishi Udyamis of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) under HADP here at Sub-Divisional Agriculture Office, Reasi.The programme was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N. Tripathi and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof. Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J. The programme was co-ordinated by Chief Agriculture Officer Reasi, Dr. Dolly John and SDAO Reasi, Sh. Aftab Ahmed Malik. The objective of the programme was to train the Krishi Udyamis of KKGs and improve their hand holding and business opportunities. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Chief Scientist & Head, KVK Reasi guided participants on the innovative and sustainable agricultural practices by integrating digital services through Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs).
He suggested the participants to take advantage of such type of useful training programmes and emphasised on the management of soil health. He discussed on organic and natural farming and elaborated the formulations of natural farming inputs.
He highlighted the balanced application of essential nutrients in plants and stressed on soil testing.He discussed in detail on marketing, branding and packaging of agro- products for more farm returns. Dr. Dolly John, Chief Agriculture Officer, Reasi guided participants on agricultural opportunities and digital empowerment.
She encouraged the Krishi Udyamis for their efforts to disseminate the agricultural information to the farmers and stressed on the use of ICTs in agriculture. Earlier Sh. Kumar Gaurav, Agriculture Extension Officer,Reasi warmly welcomed the participants and apprised them about the details of the activities of KKGs. He said that the trained Krishi Udyamis will act as the extension agents in their respective areas who further can guide the farmers of their areas on the efficient use of agro-inputs.He spoke on various agricultural schemes undergoing in the distt.
He also spoke on use of ICT in agriculture and also guided them on medicinal plants. Sh. Deepak Parkash said that the Krishi Udyamis should extend their knowledge to their fallow farmers so that their knowledge on balanced doses of fertilizers/manures can be upgraded. He guided the participants on balanced doses of manures/fertilizers and highlighted organic and natural farming to reduce the cost of cultivation. Dr. Sudhir Singh Jamwal guided participants on scientific fruit and vegetables farming and highlighted the value addition in fruit and vegetables.He stressed on protected cultivation for more farm returns. Sh. Arshad Ali, SMS also spoke during the programme and upgraded the knowledge of the participants about the agril. schemes. Sh. Sahil Thakur demonstrated the use of ICTs in agriculture. Sh.Rakesh Kundal spoke on Farmers Producer Organisations and stressed on efficient agril. marketing. Special farmer-scientists interaction session was also organised during the programme during which the participants asked various quarries which were answered satisfactorily by the experts. Participants thanked KVK Reasi and Department of Agriculture for organizing such a useful programme.The programme was concluded by Sh.Rakesh Kundal with formal vote of thanks.
