IIM Jammu concludes first phase of leadership development programme

JAMMU, Aug 21: Indian Institute of Management Jammu concluded the first phase of its training programme Leadership Development Programme for Young Managers-Batch VII for SAIL marking the completion of an intensive learning and development journey focused on reflection, experiential learning, leadership, and professional growth. The training program consists of 46 participants from SAIL. The training program was presided over by Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu in presence of Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, and Program Director and Dr. Mamta Tripathi, Programme Director.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, and Program Director, initiated an insightful conversation on the significance of learning with purpose and self-awareness. He highlighted that two moments hold particular importance in an individual's life, when one is born and when one discovers the purpose of one's life. He noted that the training programme provided participants with an opportunity to reflect, learn, and gain fresh perspectives through a thoughtfully designed series of sessions. He appreciated the active participation and engagement of the participants and emphasized that the programme offered a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, interaction, and professional development.
Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, in his address, encouraged participants to approach the programme with an open mind and leave their organizational designations behind while entering the learning space. He stressed the importance of unlearning, relearning, and continuously practising what one learns. He observed that knowledge creates lasting value only when it is rehearsed, applied, and translated into action. He encouraged the participants to remain curious, embrace new ideas, and continuously learn and evolve in their professional journey.
The participants shared their reflections on the programme and appreciated the quality of the sessions, faculty expertise, learning environment, and overall hospitality at IIM Jammu. They highlighted that the programme provided meaningful insights and practical knowledge that could be applied in their professional roles.
