| JMC employee stabs one to death | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 14: While two other Jammu Municipality Corporation employees are on the verge of suspension following the beating of an old politician to pulp, one another Jammu Municipality Corporation employee was booked for the murder of a Safai Karamchari here today. The municipality employee identified as Harjeet Singh son of Sohan Singh resident of Bakshi Nagar stabbed one Munir Ahmed son of Ghulam Ahmed Wani resident of Srinagar at present at Bagwati Nagar to death. The reason behind the incident is stated to be scuffle over official work. The incident occurred early in the morning when Harjeet Singh, supervisor, called on Munir Ahmed, a safai karamchari, to allot the work at Bhagwati Nagar. The verbal duel turned into scuffle and in the ensuing scuffle Harjeet Singh put out his kirpan, a sharp edged weapon, and stabbed him resulting on spot death of Munir. Police after having information reached on the spot but till then Harjeet made his way. Nowabad police has registered a case in this regard and has started a manhunt to arrest the accused. Where as two other JMC employees identified as Anup and Amarjeet who beat Paras Ram Poonch, a politician, into pulp are on five days remand as condition of Poonchi is stated to be critical and department is typing suspension order of both of them as time of seventy two hours have been elapsed since their arrest.
