" Right now we do not have any outlet in J&K. We currently have an outlet 80 kms before Jammu. Another one will automatically be opened in Jammu as we are looking at expanding to as many places as we can,"McDonald’s India Franchisee ( North and East) Managing Director Vikram Bakshi said on the sidelines of an event organised by CII. However, he declined to give the number of outlets to be opened or the time-frame for the launch of the brand in the state. Bakshi said the fast food chain&aposs sales have grown 15-18 per cent despite the economic slowdown. "If we look at the period from September (2008) to now, our same-outlet sales have grown 15-18 per cent. Ours is a value brand and people are moving towards value,"he said. The company aims to add 40 points of sale by March 2010 with an investment of Rs 120 crore. At present, McDonald&aposs has 160 outlets in the country.
