| Counsel misguided to shun violence- Azad asks elders | | Says world economy at threshold of state, if peace returns | | Srinagar, September 25 – Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that there is a tremendous enthusiasm amongst the people of USA Europe and other countries of the world to visit Kashmir and enjoy the natural beauty of this heaven of earth. He said the feelings of the people, he had had during the tour of Brussels, USA, London etc. where he met with the Parliament members of 25 European countries, participated in 8 meetings, addresses conferences, met a cross section of people, interacted with media persons, investors, traders, industrialists, intellectuals and opinion leaders, he found that people are highly eager to visit the state as tourists, invest and establish industries here. However, he added, they fear that the atmosphere is not conducive in the state for such economic activities. Speaking to Doordarshan this afternoon, Chief Minister said that during the month of Ramdan all of us should pray in daily five prayers that peace gets strong roots and atmosphere becomes conducive adding, if that happens, the doors of entire world are going to open for Jammu and Kashmir and all roads from across the world will lead to Kashmir for economic prosperity. “Elders and wise have to counsel the youth who have been led astray and misguided to shun violence, be peaceful and help create conducive atmosphere, free of threats violence and bloodshed, sothat international investors willingly invest in the state and a concrete edifice for Khushal Jammu and Kashmir is laid,” he said. Mr. Azad said that if the entire population of the state would resort to counsel the misguided youth to come to mainstream and create peace, the result would be positive and the day to bath in prosperous sunshine would not be a distant dream for the people of the state. This is also the desire of the people of the world and the leadership as they want to see the state prosperous, developed and peaceful, he maintained. |
