| Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha Samba raises strong voice against UGC equity regulations 2026 | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, Aug 26: The Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Samba, held a press conference at the Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha Bhawan, Samba, under the presidentship of Amardeep Singh, to voice its strong opposition to the proposed UGC Equity Regulations 2026 and highlight concerns over their possible impact on the future, educational opportunities and rights of children.
Addressing the media, the Sabha expressed serious apprehension over certain provisions of the proposed regulations and said that any policy concerning the education system must be examined carefully before implementation, particularly when it has the potential to affect students and their families.
Amardeep Singh said that the future of children is a matter of paramount importance and that educational policies should be framed in a manner that ensures fairness, equality, merit and equal opportunities for every student. He stressed that no regulatory framework should create a sense of insecurity or adversely affect the educational prospects of children.
The representatives of the Sabha said that they are not opposed to measures aimed at ensuring a safe, respectful and discrimination-free educational environment. However, they maintained that the implementation of any new regulation should be based on a balanced approach, with adequate consultation with all stakeholders and a thorough assessment of its likely social and educational consequences.
The Sabha further emphasized that students should be able to pursue their education without fear of being unfairly categorized or facing consequences because of their social background. The speakers urged the authorities to ensure that the principles of equal treatment, natural justice and constitutional rights remain at the centre of the education system.
During the press conference, the Sabha appealed to the concerned authorities to reconsider the proposed UGC Equity Regulations 2026 and initiate a meaningful dialogue with representatives of different communities, educational experts, parents and other stakeholders before taking any final decision.
The Sabha leaders said that education is the foundation of a child's future and any policy affecting students must therefore be introduced only after extensive deliberation and transparency. They called upon the authorities to address the concerns being raised by various sections of society and ensure that the interests of students remain the top priority.
Amardeep Singh reiterated that the Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Samba, would continue to raise legitimate concerns through peaceful, democratic and constitutional means. He said the Sabha's objective is to safeguard the educational future and rights of children while seeking a fair and balanced policy framework. |
