Early Times Report REASI, Aug 26: Continuing its sustained drive against the illegal trade and distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances, Reasi Police today achieved a significant success with the recovery of 4,080 Pregabalin capsules and apprehension of one person in the jurisdiction of Police Post Banganga. Yesterday evening, a police party of Police Post Banganga apprehended one person identified as Ankush Kumar S/o Nand Lal, R/o Chak Mathyani, Tehsil Teryath, District Rajouri, who was proceeding from Banganga towards PP Market. At the time of his apprehension, the individual was carrying a black-coloured polythene bag in his hand. During a search of the said bag, 4,080 Pregabalin capsules were recovered from his possession. The recovered capsules were packed in four transparent polythene packets containing 1,000 capsules each, along with 08 strips containing 80 capsules, making a total recovery of 4,080 Pregabalin capsules. In this connection, Case FIR No. 280/2026 under Section 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra, and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered capsules. Reasi Police reiterates its firm commitment to curbing the illegal trade and abuse of psychotropic substances and will continue its sustained action against persons involved in such activities. |
