MANDI GOBINDGARH, Aug 31: Desh Bhagat University (DBU), Punjab, a NAAC A+ accredited multidisciplinary university, has announced the "DBU-Nepal Sahyog Scholarship 2026" to support students from Nepal, particularly those whose families have been affected by the recent natural disaster.
Under the initiative, all eligible students from Nepal will receive a 25% scholarship on tuition fees for the entire duration of their programme. Students from partially affected families may receive a 50% scholarship, while deserving students from severely affected families may be granted a scholarship of up to 100% on tuition fees, subject to verification and the University's scholarship policy.
Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University, said, "The DBU-Nepal Sahyog Scholarship reflects our commitment to ensuring that deserving students are not deprived of higher education because of financial hardship or circumstances beyond their control. Education has the power to rebuild lives, restore confidence and create a secure future. Through this initiative, DBU stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and reaffirms the historic bonds of friendship between India and Nepal."
Prof. (Dr.) Harsh Kumar Sadawarti, Vice-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, stated, "Students from Nepal have been an integral part of the DBU community and have pursued education at the University across various streams. They have enriched our campus through their academic participation, cultural diversity and strong sense of community. DBU has always provided a welcoming and supportive environment to Nepalese students, and this scholarship will further strengthen our long-standing educational relationship with Nepal."
He further added that the University would facilitate academic guidance, admission assistance and student-support services to ensure a smooth transition for scholarship beneficiaries.
The scholarship is available for selected programmes, including B.Tech. CSE with Artificial Intelligence, B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering, B.Tech. Civil Engineering, B.Tech. Electrical Engineering, BBA, BCA, MBA, MCA and BHMCT.
