JAMMU, Aug 31: Police Station Channi Himmat, conducted a checking operation at a shop in the Malik Market, Bypass Channi Rama, falling within the jurisdiction of Police Station Channi Himmat. During the checking, six (06) banned plastic/nylon Manja threads used for kite flying were found in the shop of Farida Begum W/o Mohd. Saleem R/o Malik Market, Bypass Channi Rama, and were subsequently seized. In this regard, FIR No. 242/2026 under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Channi Himmat, and investigation into the matter is underway. Jammu Police has reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against persons found involved in the sale, storage or use of banned plastic/nylon Manja. The checking drive will continue in the coming days to ensure that banned Manja is removed from circulation and its use is effectively prevented in the interest of public safety. |
