| Nitish Kumar assumes charge as ADGP Armed Police, J&K | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 31: Nitish Kumar, IPS, a 1999-batch officer, has assumed charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Armed Police, Jammu and Kashmir. Before his appointment, the additional charge of the Armed Wing was being looked after by Shri V. K. Birdi, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone. Soon after assuming charge, Shri Nitish Kumar met senior officers at the Armed Police Headquarters and reviewed the functioning of the Armed Wing. The meeting focused on key operational, administrative and organisational matters. The newly appointed ADG also stressed the need for professionalism, better coordination and a strong sense of commitment while carrying out responsibilities. Welfare of Police Personnel will be the one of the main priorities of Armed Police under leadership. Prior to his present posting, Shri Nitish Kumar was serving as ADG CID and Director of the State Investigation Agency (SIA), J&K. Over the course of his career, he has held several important positions in the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Government of India. Senior officers at the Armed Police Headquarters welcomed Shri Nitish Kumar and assured him of their full cooperation and commitment towards ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Armed Wing. |
