| Rs.5.56 cr being spent on WSS & ARWSS in Pulwama district: Bandh | | | Srinagar, September 25- The Government is committed to provide basic amenities to the common masses particularly living in far flung areas, down trodden and who have remained untouched. This was stated by Minister of State for Roads and Buildings, Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh while addressing a large gathering at Gundipora Pulwama after laying foundation stone of Gundipora lift water supply scheme which is estimated to be completed with a cost of Rs.79 lakhs benefiting about 4300 souls of Kawsi Bagh, Gadoora, Pinglena, Urbagh, Pahoo and other areas. Mr. Bandh further said that in Pulwama district 19 WSS have been taken for execution under district sector involving Rs.56 lakhs. 25 schemes have been under taken under Accelerated Rural Water Supply Scheme (ARWSS) involving Rs.500 lakhs in the district. He said that various schemes have been taken for execution to provide common masses better of basic amenities. He called upon engineers to work with dedication to provide quality services to the people by constructing community assets. He stressed upon them to complete the scheme within stipulated time. Later the Minister took stock of on going work on Urgagh bridge which is being constructed by JKPCC and will be completed with a cost Rs.72 lakhs and so for Rs.38 lakhs have been spent on the bridge. Mr. Bandh also took stock of work of science block of Degree College Pulwama which is being completed with a cost of Rs.282 lakhs and on which work is going on full swing. The Minister also inspected bandh at Rohmishi Nallah which was damaged in recent floods. He asked the concerned agency to start work on the Bund immediately. |
