SSP Samba calls for vigilant, proactive professional policing; issues key directions to field officers

SAMBA, Sept 5: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Sh. Anuj Kumar, IPS today convened a meeting at the Conference Hall DPO Samba with all Gazetted Officers, all SHOs, SOG Samba, Incharge PCR Samba, DSB Samba, Incharges of Police Posts and Border Police Posts and all PSIs of Samba Police.
The meeting was convened with the objective of conveying the directions received from higher authorities to the field formations and ensuring their strict compliance and effective implementation at the ground level.
During the meeting, SSP Samba directed all supervisory officers and SHOs to ensure regular updating of the records of OGWs, landowners and tillers residing along the International Border (IB) and maintained at their respective Police Stations.
SSP Samba directed all officers to take strict and effective action against gangsters involved in illegal activities. He further stressed upon the need to maintain comprehensive profiles of individual gangsters, narcotics smugglers and other criminal elements.
Reiterating the directions received from the higher authorities, SSP Samba directed all Police personnel to strictly refrain from uploading or sharing photographs on social media platforms while wearing police uniform. He emphasized that all personnel must adhere to the prescribed discipline and instructions governing the use of social media.
On traffic management, SSP Samba directed all participating officers, particularly supervisory officers and SHOs to vigorously launch drives against traffic rule violators and book offenders under the relevant provisions of law.
SSP Samba emphasized that Police personnel deployed on naka duty must be smart, alert, active and well-versed with various applications and technological tools assisting naka checking. SSP Samba categorically directed that no Police personnel shall be deployed on Naka/National Highway (NHW) duty without a weapon.
Further, SSP Samba directed all supervisory officers and SHOs to resume evening Roll Calls and regular briefing/debriefing sessions at their respective Police Stations.
Later, the SSP held a threadbare review of UAPA cases with the concerned supervisory officers. He discussed the progress of investigation in detail and directed the officers concerned to ensure speedy disposal of these cases.
Concluding the meeting, SSP Samba directed all officers to remain vigilant, proactive and responsive in the discharge of their duties and ensure that the directions issued by higher authorities are implemented in letter and spirit.
