SERSUNDWAN, Sept 16: Member of Parliament, Jammu-Reasi, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLA Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency Baldev Raj Sharma, and DDC Chairman Reasi Saraf Singh Nag today visited PM SHRI Government High School, Sersundwan, where all three dignitaries graced the occasion as Chief Guests and inaugurated the repair and renovation works of the classrooms for Classes 9th and 10th at the school.
The dignitaries also attended the Annual Day Function of the school, where students presented an impressive cultural programme and showcased their talent through various performances. The excellent performances by the students were highly appreciated by the Chief Guests, parents and the gathering. The dignitaries also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the teaching staff and school management towards the overall development of the students.
During the programme, local residents, parents and prominent citizens put forth various demands related to the development of the school and the surrounding area. Giving a positive response to the demands, Hon'ble MLA Shri Baldev Raj Sharma assured the people that the genuine demands falling within the scope of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) would be taken up and fulfilled through CDF on priority, subject to the prescribed norms and procedures.
One of the major demands raised by the people was the upgradation of PM SHRI Government High School Sersundwan to Higher Secondary level. Addressing the gathering, Hon'ble MP Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma and Hon'ble MLA Shri Baldev Raj Sharma assured that the demand would be taken up on first priority and pursued with the concerned authorities for its early fulfilment. They emphasised that the upgradation of the school would provide students from Sersundwan and adjoining areas with the opportunity to continue their higher secondary education closer to their homes.
MLA Baldev Raj Sharma reiterated his commitment towards strengthening educational infrastructure across the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Assembly Constituency and assured the people that development-related demands would continue to receive his personal attention. He further assured that eligible works would be taken up through CDF, while other demands would be pursued with the concerned departments for their early resolution.
The Chief Guests encouraged the students to continue working hard and participating actively in academic, cultural and co-curricular activities. They also appreciated the school staff for their dedicated efforts in providing students with a supportive environment for learning and overall growth.
The programme was attended by the Deputy Director School Education, Jammu, Chief Education Officer Reasi, Zonal Education Officer Reasi, Head of the School, teaching and non-teaching staff, prominent citizens, local residents, parents and a large number of students.
The inauguration of the repair and renovation works and the Annual Day celebrations marked an important occasion for PM SHRI Government High School Sersundwan, reflecting the continued focus on strengthening educational infrastructure and providing better facilities and opportunities to the students of Sersundwan and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency.
