| Olympian Medalists Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das visit Amar Singh Club | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 16: Amar Singh Club, Jammu, had the privilege of welcoming two of India's celebrated archery stars, Olympian and medalist Deepika Kumari and her husband Atanu Das, World Champion, Olympic medalist and Arjuna Awardee, who visited the club today.
The visit took place in an atmosphere that reflects the strong sporting culture of Amar Singh Club. The club's Vice President, Shri Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, has consistently encouraged and promoted sports and sporting activities in the region. His support and encouragement have contributed significantly to strengthening the sporting environment at the club.
Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das are presently visiting Katra, and upon hearing about Amar Singh Club, they graciously expressed their desire to visit the club and meet its members. Their visit was particularly special as it provided an opportunity for interaction with the sporting fraternity of Jammu.
Vijay Saraf, Honorary Secretary, Amar Singh Club, who is also actively associated with sports as General Secretary of the Wushu Federation of India and President of the Wushu Association of J&K, welcomed the distinguished sportspersons and interacted with them about their sporting careers, achievements and experiences at the international level.
During the interaction, club members had the opportunity to learn about their remarkable sporting journeys, including their participation in multiple World Championships and Olympic Games. Their achievements and contribution to Indian archery are a matter of immense pride for the entire nation. The visit was warmly received by the Executive Committee members and Honorary Members of Amar Singh Club, who had the opportunity to meet and interact with the champions. Members expressed their happiness and pride at having two such accomplished Indian sportspersons visit the club.
The presence of Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das added a special significance to the occasion and highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence associated with Jammu and Kashmir. Their visit was a proud moment for Amar Singh Club and its members.
