Early Times Report
JALANDHAR, Sept 19: A major industry 0academia collaboration and significant student career outcome marked the 8th International Conference on Intelligent Circuits and Systems at Lovely Professional University (LPU). The university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Orangewood, and 51 LPU students received offer letters from TRUECHIP Solutions Private Limited on the first day of their admission. Organised by LPU's School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (SEEE), the international conference brought together researchers, academicians, technology experts, industry professionals, innovators, and students to explore artificial intelligence, intelligent circuits and systems, electronics, and emerging technologies.
Aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 Quality Education, the conference reflected LPU's focus on providing students with exposure to contemporary technologies, research, and industry practices alongside their academic learning. The event also featured international participation from Dr. K. K. Chong, Senior Professor, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia, who joined virtually and addressed participants on "Integration of Artificial Intelligence into Sun Tracking Systems: Design and Development." His session brought an international research perspective to the conference and demonstrated the application of artificial intelligence in developing intelligent and sustainable engineering systems.
Speaking on the occasion, Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor, LPU, highlighted the importance of building sustained partnerships between universities and industry to ensure that academic learning remained closely connected with the requirements of a rapidly changing technology sector. Dr. Mittal emphasised that interactions with industry professionals, exposure to emerging technologies, and opportunities to understand real world applications helped students develop a broader perspective of their chosen fields.
The conference featured the presentation of the "Book of Abstracts ICICS-2026," which compiled the research contributions, innovative ideas, and scholarly work presented during the event. The publication captured the academic breadth of the conference and documented research discussions on intelligent circuits, systems, electronics, and emerging technologies.
Dr. Loviraj Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor, LPU, also graced the conference, along with the Wikimedia team comprising Praveen Das, Tanveer Hasan, Krupal Kasyap, and Nitesh Gill, and Orangewood representatives Aditya Bhatia and Debadatta Singha.
