| JKLF, DPM protest leaders’ detention | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 18 : The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and Democratic Peoples movement (DPM) today staged a joint protest rally in Lal Chowk here against the detention of separatist leaders. The rally led by the president JKLF, Rashid Mir demanded immediate release of their leaders Muhammad Salim Nanaji, Farooq Ahmad Dar and others who has been under custody from the last many days. The protesters raised slogans against the government and said that it should stop state sponsored terrorism in J&K. “The government was encouraging violence and creating problems for the innocent people,” the JKLF leaders said. Mir told Agence India Press that the party was very much worried about the health of the detained leaders as authorities were not informing about their present condition in jail. The protestors tried to march towards the United Nations Military Group of India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) at Sonwar, but were stopped and arrested by the police personnel at Residency Road.
