SHIMLA, Sept 21: A media get-together was organised at the Lok Bhavan, Shimla, where the Hon'ble Governor Himachal Pradesh, Shri Kavinder Gupta interacted with senior journalists and media representatives.
The Governor had an open and informal interaction with the media fraternity, discussing a range of issues concerning Himachal Pradesh, including development, public aspirations, youth, tourism, employment and the evolving socio-political landscape of the State.
The members of the media fraternity apprised the Hon'ble Governor of various issues concerning the State, including public concerns, development priorities and the evolving media landscape. They also shared their views and suggestions on strengthening constructive dialogue between the media and public institutions.
Kavinder Gupta appreciated the important role of the media in strengthening democracy and acting as a bridge between the people and institutions of governance. He emphasised the need for responsible, credible and constructive journalism that keeps public interest at the centre. The Governor said that the media has a significant responsibility in bringing people's concerns to the fore, highlighting positive developments and contributing to informed public discourse.
He also encouraged journalists to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, objectivity and public accountability while discharging their responsibilities. |
