| BJP OBC Morcha organizes organ donation camp and plantation drive in Jammu on Maharaja Hari Singh ji's birth anniversary | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 23: J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) called upon people to embrace the spirit of social responsibility and selfless service, saying that meaningful initiatives undertaken for the welfare of society are the true way to remember great personalities such as Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.
Sat Sharma was speaking after inaugurating an organ donation awareness and registration camp organized by the BJP OBC Morcha under the "Seva Mera Yogdan" initiative at Arya Samaj Mandir, Janipur, Jammu, to mark the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji. The programme was followed by a plantation drive at Shri Ram Mandir, where saplings were planted with the message of environmental protection and greater green cover.
The programme was organized by Manohar Babbar, State Executive Member, BJP OBC Morcha. Braham Jyot Satti, President, BJP OBC Morcha J&K, along with Sunny Sangotra, State General Secretary, OBC Morcha; Ravish Mehngi, District General Secretary; Shamsher Prajapati, District President, OBC Morcha; Parshottam Punna, State Social Media Incharge, OBC Morcha; Keshav Chopra, District Spokesperson; Sunita Devi, former Corporator; Baba Ramesh Ji and several social workers and members of the OBC community participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that Maharaja Hari Singh Ji made significant contributions towards the welfare and development of Jammu and Kashmir and his life continues to inspire people towards social responsibility and public service. He said that initiatives such as organ donation awareness and plantation drives reflect the spirit of service and encourage citizens to contribute towards the welfare of society.
Sat Sharma said that organ donation is a noble act which has the potential to give a new lease of life to people in need of transplants. He appealed to the people to spread awareness about organ donation and take part in such humanitarian initiatives.
Braham Jyot Satti said that the BJP OBC Morcha is committed to taking up activities that directly benefit society and create awareness on important social issues. He said that the "Seva Mera Yogdan" initiative is aimed at connecting people with the spirit of service and encouraging them to contribute towards society in different ways.
He said that observing Maharaja Hari Singh Ji's birth anniversary through an organ donation initiative and plantation drive was a meaningful way of remembering his contribution to the people. He said that both organ donation and protection of the environment are important responsibilities of every citizen and called upon the people, particularly the youth, to actively participate in such social causes.
Following the organ donation programme, a plantation drive was organised at Shri Ram Mandir, with the participation of the same group of social workers, party workers and members of the OBC community. Saplings were planted in and around the temple premises with the message of protecting the environment and increasing green cover.
The organizers thanked Irfan Ahmad Lone, Transplant Coordinator, SOTTO, Manik Sharma, Transplant Coordinator , GMC Jammu, Ashwini Kumar, SOTTO J&K and other officials for their support and said that both programmes received active participation from the local community and provided an opportunity to spread awareness about organ donation, environmental protection and the importance of collective social responsibility. |
