| Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu Organises Health Awareness Programme | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 25: NSS Unit 1 of PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu organised a Health Awareness Programme titled “My Health, My Pride” under NASHA MUKT YUVA FOR VIKSIT BHARAT programme. 100 days Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide campaign launched by our worthy Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji on 2nd August, 2026. The programme aimed at promoting awareness about nutrition, healthy living and the adverse impact of addiction on health, under the broader message of building a healthier and stronger youth. It is pertinent to mention here that PSPS GCW Gandhinagar had been selected as one of the prestigious institutions among the 200 locations all over India so as to organise this camp this week. The programme included the General Health Check up of Youth followed by two Expert sessions. The whole event was organised under the guidance of revered Principal, Dr. Kulwinder Kour. She appreciated the initiative undertaken by NSS Unit 1 in organising such events of social importance. She encouraged the students to remain conscious of their physical and mental well-being and make informed choices regarding nutrition, lifestyle and personal health. The programme commenced with a warm welcome and introduction, followed by the traditional ceremonial lamp lighting, marking the auspicious beginning of the event. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Suraj MohaniJamwal, NSS Programme Officer-Unit 1, who welcomed the distinguished guests Dr. Archana Bhat, Dr. Zenuka and Dr. Lokesh Dubey in the event. She emphasised the role of NSS in encouraging students to adopt responsible and healthy lifestyles and contribute towards a healthier society. The first expert session was conducted by Dr. Archana Bhat,who delivered an informative presentation on “Nutrition and Good Health.” She elaborated on the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet and encouraged students to develop healthy dietary habits for long-term well-being. The second session was delivered by Dr. Zenuka, who spoke on the “Impact of Addiction on Health.” She sensitised the students about the harmful consequences of addictive substances and emphasised the importance of making healthy and responsible choices. As a gesture of respect and appreciation, mementoes were presented by the Principal to the esteemed guests. |
