Ramban, Sept 25: Government Degree College Ramban, in collaboration with Cyber Police Station Ramban, organized an awareness session on Cyber Security on the theme “Staying Safe in the Digital World.” The programme was held under the patronage of Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri, Principal, GDC Ramban, with the objective of sensitizing students about cyber threats and safe digital practices.
Jb. ViqarYounas Bhat, DySP Headquarters and SHO, Cyber Police Station Ramban, was the Special Guest and Resource Person. He delivered an informative presentation on cyber crimes, online frauds, phishing, identity theft, social engineering, financial scams, and protection of personal information. He also shared practical experiences and real-life examples from the Cyber Police, making the session highly relevant and interactive.He emphasized the importance of vigilance, strong passwords, two-factor authentication, responsible use of social media, and timely reporting of suspicious online activities. Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri, Principal, GDC Ramban, appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of creating awareness among students about cyber security in an increasingly digital society. He particularly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Computer Applications for organizing the awareness programme in collaboration with the Cyber Police Station Ramban. Prof. Aditya Sharma, HOD, Computer Applications, coordinated the proceedings of the session. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Mir, HOD, Political Science, who expressed gratitude to the resource person and the Cyber Police Station Ramban for their valuable contribution.
