Jammu, Sept 25: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, put up an impressive performance at the 1st Union Territory (UT) Gatka Championship, held in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, with its students securing 11 gold medals across different age categories.
In the boys’ category, Harmanjot Singh (Class 11) won two gold medals in the U-17 category, while Harshjot Singh (Class 11) secured one gold medal in U-17. Anirudh Singh (Class 12) won a gold medal in U-19, and Gurjot Singh (Class 7) secured a gold medal in U-14.
In the girls’ category, Harjas Kour (Class 11) and Gurleen Kour (Class 11) won two gold medals each in U-17. Mandeep Kour (Class 11) and Sukriti Bhagat (Class 11) added one gold medal each in the same age category.
The students competed under the mentorship of Gurnaaz Singh.
Rohini Aima - Principal cum Vice Chairperson congratulated the students and their mentor on the achievement and appreciated their dedication, discipline and commitment to Gatka. She wished the players continued success in their future competitions.
The 11-gold-medal haul reflects the students’ strong performance across both boys’ and girls’ categories at the championship. The school management reaffirmed its commitment to fostering sports and providing students with opportunities to excel at competitive levels. |
