DODA, Sept 25: Continuing its drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of minor minerals, Doda Police detained a tipper found transporting mining material without valid documents/e-Challan in Thathri area.
During checking, a police team of Police Station Thathri, led by SHO PS Thathri along with nafri, intercepted a Tipper-407 bearing Registration No. JK06A-2019, loaded with approximately 100 ft of crusher dust, driven by Mohd Saleem S/o Ali Mohd R/o Tipri, Thathri.
On checking, the driver failed to produce any valid document/e-Challan authorising transportation of the mining material. Accordingly, the vehicle was detained at Police Station Thathri and the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Doda was informed for further action under the applicable rules.
Subsequently, the Mining Department initiated proceedings and a total amount of ?11,950.32 was realised, comprising penalty/fine and applicable charges, following which the vehicle was released as per rules.
