Early Times Report JAMMU, June 18: Punjab wrestlers, Satyanam of Amritsar and Rehmat Ali of Maller Kotla shared the 55th Bambyal Kesari dangal title after the main bout they contested for ended in a draw at Bambyal. Both the wresters were awarded a cash prize of Rs 4,000 each. The day long event (dangal) was organised by Bambyal Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Member J&K State Sports Council and president State Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was chief guest in this dangal while Varinder Sharma Contractor by profession, Bagh Hussain and Thoru Ram, both ex-Sarpanch were guests of honour. In all, 41 bouts were played in this dangal wherein local wrestlers hailing from Udhampur, Kathua, Reasi, Jammu, besides those from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, UP, Delhi as also J&K Police and BSF participated. The interesting bouts were witnessed by a healthy crowd of locals and sports lovers from surrounding areas. The second main bout between Jakker Hussain of Jammu and Amarjeet of Sirsa in Hayayana again remained undecided after 32 minutes of marathon fight. Both the wrestlers were given away a cash prize of Rs 2,500 each. Third main bout was won by Abdul Gani of Maller Kotla, who defeated Pinder of Ajnala in Punjab. In the fourth main bout Goga of Amritsar outplayed Onkar Singh of BSF while the fifth bout, fought between Raju of Firozpur in Punjab and Roshan Lal of Muthi, ended in draw. Members and technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of this dangal included Bashir Ammad (president), Manjoor Hussain ( chairman), Pawan Kumar, Sher Singh lambardar, Kartar Chand, Sarpanch, Dev Raj Barl, Gulam Nabi, Mohd Din, Bishan Dass, Sewa Ram, Rattan Lal, Mohd Fareed and Om Parkash Sharma, wrestling coach of J&K Police. Dr Hamid Choudhary, senior Congress leader donated Rs 8,000 prize money for main bout. Other Results: Murad Ali bt Pritam Singh, Bagga bt Vicky, Kalu bt Sonu, Daller Khan bt Sunny, Sunny bt Murad Ali, Narinder bt Nissar Ali, Suneet Singh bt Ajub. Bouts between Mam Hussain and Naresh, Prem Verma and Balli, Karan and Atter Deen and Teg Ali of MallerKotla and Pinda of Amritsar ended in a draw.
