| JKML earns Rs.8 cr revenue during last fiscal | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 19- The Jammu and Kashmir Minerals Limited (JKML) has earned revenue of Rs. 7.99 crore during the last fiscal, while the Corporation has a set target of Rs. 20.41 crore for the current financial year. This information was given during 161st Board of Directors meeting of JKML, here today which was chaired by the Industries Minister Surjit Singh Slathia. Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Anil Goswami, Secretary, JKML, A. S. Hussain, Director Geology & Mining Department, Shabir Ahmad Kanth, Managing Director, JKML, V. C. Sharma and representative of finance department attended the meeting.The meeting was informed that the corporation has generated revenue to the tune of Rs. 6.02 crore against the sale of 15326 mts of coal during last fiscal. To make the coal mining activities more viable, the production/ sale target has been fixed at 30,000 Mts for the current financial year. The corporation has also generated revenue of Rs. 1.65 crore from sale of 21365.055 Mts of gypsum extracted from Gypsum mines of Assar, Parlanka of Doda and Ramban districts during last fiscal.It has also initiated the process of opening of some old potential based mines including Sair and Beroga. For scientific exploration of sapphire from world famous sapphire mine, Padder in Kishtwar district, the corporation has conducted a detailed survey through Geological Survey of India, the meeting was told.
