| HC offers relief to PG aspirant medico | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 20- Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu Wing Justice JP Singh today directed the secretary BOPEE that he shall consider Dr. Rajinder Kumar Jangral too for counseling for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Course for which he has applied. However, the result of his selection shall not be declared until next date of hearing. This direction was passed in a petition filed by Dr. Rajinder Kumar Jangral seeking his selection for the admission MD/MS/PG Diploma Course, The petitioner submitted that after completion of MBBS he was appointed as Assistant Surgeon on Adhoc basis on February 16, 1999 and posted in rural area up to February 4, 2005. The service of the petitioner was regularized and the petitioner was posted at PHC Nandpur from August 3, 2005 to July 31, 2008 and thereafter posted to PHC Nud. The petitioner right from joining the service is serving in the rural areas thereby rendering eight years’ service in rural areas. The petitioner applied for the PG Course as per the advertisement notice issued by the BOPEE on January 21, 2009. The petitioner having rendered rural service is eligible for consideration in the zone of 10% service quota for the candidates who had served for minimum period of five years in the rural areas. The petitioner seeks direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner for selection MD/MS/PG Degree and Diploma Course against the 10% quota reserved for rural area category candidates as prescribed in the SRO 294.
