Delayed budget session: Panthers roar at Raj Bhawan

Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today staged protest dharna in front of the Raj Bhawan Jammu here today demanding comprehensive Budget session of the State Legislature and early opening of the Central University in Jammu.
The JKNPP having taken serious note of the unprecedented delay in calling budget session of J&K Legislature, casual and undemocratic approach of the NC Congress Coalition Govt. in State organized this protest dharna in front of Raj Bhawan
Addressing the party activists Harshdev Singh MLA former minister & Vice-Chairman of the party said though the govt. has issued causal statement which has appeared in a section of press, to invite budget session w.e.f. July end, yet the calendar is not issued and there is intention of the Govt. to have brief rather then comprehensive session.
‘It is too late and hardly any time shall be left to hold District Development Board Meetings before the onset of winter, he said and added that this negates the democratic spirit of Governance. ‘It also speaks of authoritarian and dictatorial mindset of the ruling alliance, he said and stressed that party has already asked for early beginning of the session and its duration for one and half month.The JKNPP protestors also have demanded the immediate establishment of Central University in Jammu in accordance with the initial approval given by the Central Govt., in this regard.
JKNPP leaders also maintained that any attempt of the Congress-NC Govt. to shift the said University to Kashmir shall be fought tooth and nail. They said that the land for the said University had also been identified in Samba but subsequently the coalition Govt. backtracked and is now conspiring to shift the same to Kashmir which could be disastrous to the ruling alliance.

General Secretaries, Rajinder Singh Manju (State Secretary), Shakti Gupta Jammu (Urban) President, Shanker Singh Chib Jammu Distt (Rural) President, Rajesh Padgotra Samba District President, Naresh Chib, Ashok Bhagat of Khour, Rakesh Gupta, S.D. Khajuria
