JAMMU, Sept 26: In a swift and effective action, Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, has recovered stolen gold ornaments weighing approximately 300 grams, valued at around Rs 50 lakh, within 24 hours of registration of the case.
On 22.09.2026, a complaint was lodged by Harvinder Kour W/o Harvinder Singh, R/o Ashok Nagar, Jammu, alleging theft of approximately 300 grams of gold ornaments, along with her original passport and other personal belongings, from her bank locker at J&K Bank, Shastri Nagar Branch, Jammu.
Acting promptly on the complaint, FIR No. 266/2026 under Section 305 BNS was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, the SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar, along with the police team and FSL team, visited the place of occurrence and examined the available evidence. Through sustained efforts and effective utilisation of technical and human resources, the stolen gold ornaments weighing approximately 300 grams and valued at around Rs 50 lakh were successfully recovered.
The recovery was made under the supervision of SDPO South Jammu and guidance of SP South Jammu, with overall supervision and guidance of SSP Jammu.
Further investigation and legal proceedings in the case are in progress. |
