Early Times Report

Rajouri, Oct 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party has expanded its organisational outreach among the student community with the constitution of its student wing at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri), appointing a six-member team to represent the concerns and aspirations of students at the university.
The development comes amid a series of recent Apni Party programmes involving young people. On September 16, the party had reported the joining of nearly 200 youths along with around 100 other residents from Arnia at its Jammu headquarters, with party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari stressing greater participation of young people in public affairs. Against this backdrop, the formation of a dedicated student unit at BGSBU provides the party with an organisational platform to engage with students in one of Rajouri’s major higher-education institutions. BGSBU has nearly 3,000 students, according to recent reporting on the university.Under the newly announced structure, Aqib Kabir has been appointed President, Akmal Jat Vice President, Sultan Ahmed General Secretary, Asman Ahmed Secretary, Mustafa Ahmed Joint Secretary and Danish Iqbal Spokesperson.
The newly appointed office-bearers said their immediate focus would be to remain connected with the student community, raise genuine student-related issues and pursue them through appropriate forums. They also expressed their intention to strengthen the party’s organisational presence among students at the university level.
The appointments have been welcomed by students associated with the initiative, who congratulated the new team and expressed confidence in its ability to represent student concerns. The development has also been presented by the party as part of its broader effort to bring young people into its organisational and public-affairs activities.Aqib Kabir, along with the newly appointed team, expressed gratitude to Syed Manzoor Bukhari, District President, J&K Apni Party, Rajouri, and Mubashir Gualani (Zeeshan), District Joint Secretary, for recommending their names to the party high command.
The new office-bearers also thanked Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Party President, Sardar Manjeet Singh, Provincial President, and other senior leaders for entrusting them with the responsibility. The team said it would work with commitment, discipline and sincerity and ensure that legitimate concerns of students are highlighted before the concerned authorities.
The constitution of the BGSBU student wing adds another layer to the Apni Party’s recent youth-focused organisational activity. While the party has described the participation of young people as an important component of its political outreach, the new university unit is expected to provide a structured forum for student engagement and issue-based representation in Rajouri.
