Burn, Group Commander, NCC Jammu, visited Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu and called on the Vice Chancellor Prof. B. N. Tripathi at the University. The visit focused on strengthening the institutional association between SKUAST-Jammu and the National Cadet Corps and exploring avenues for greater engagement of University students in NCC-related activities. Discussions covered initiatives aimed at promoting discipline, leadership, teamwork, character building, social responsibility and a spirit of service among students. The Hon'ble Vice Chancellor appreciated the significant role played by the NCC in the holistic development of young people and emphasized the importance of providing students with opportunities that complement their academic education with leadership skills, community service, physical fitness and responsible citizenship. Brig. H. S. Burn apprised the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of various activities and initiatives undertaken by the NCC and highlighted the opportunities available for students to participate in training programmes, camps, social outreach activities, leadership development initiatives and other youth-oriented programmes. The interaction also provided an opportunity to discuss possibilities for closer coordination between the University and NCC Jammu for organizing programmes that could benefit students and contribute to their overall personality development. Prof. Sanjay Guleria, Dean, FBSc, and Prof. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Director Student Welfare, were also present during the interaction. |
