Early Times Report RAMGARH, Oct 3: The NSS Unit 'Prabha' of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organised a Daan Utsav celebration - Joy of Giving activity in the college to promote the values of kindness, sharing, compassion and social responsibility among students. The programme was organized under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal, GDC Ramgarh and Dr. Snobar, NSS Programme Officer, coordinated the activity. Daan Utsav festival , celebrated from 2nd to 8th October, encourages people to contribute their time, resources and efforts towards the welfare of others. Colleges and NSS units across the country participate in the festival by organising different activities based on the spirit of giving. As part of the activity, NSS volunteers and students were encouraged to contribute useful items and resources for those in need. The volunteers actively participated in the collection and awareness activity and conveyed the message that even a small act of giving can bring positive change to someone's life. Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and encouraged students to continue participating in community service activities with empathy and responsibility. Dr. Snobar, Programme Officer, NSS Unit 'Prabha' coordinated the activity and motivated the volunteers to understand the importance of service, sharing and community participation. The activity also reflected the NSS motto, "Not Me But You," which emphasises community service and putting the welfare of others before oneself. The activity witnessed active participation from faculty members, including Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Brahm Dutt, Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Dr. Uma Prashar and Dr. Sneh Devi, who joined the NSS volunteers in supporting the spirit of giving and community service. The Daan Utsav activity concluded with a message to students that giving is not only about donating material things but also about giving time, care, respect and support to others. The NSS Unit 'Prabha' reaffirmed its commitment to organising more such socially meaningful activities in the college and community. |
