Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 3: The two-day selection trials for the Junior J&K Wushu Team concluded successfully at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC), Srinagar. The selection committee constituted by the Wushu Association of J&K conducted the trials to select the team for participation in the 25th Junior National Wushu Championship, scheduled to be held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from October 28 to November 2, 2026. A total of 26 players, including boys and girls competing in Sanda and Taolu disciplines, were shortlisted by the selection committee for the national championship. The selection trials were conducted at SKISC in accordance with the norms and guidelines of the J&K Sports Council. An observer's from the J&K Sports Council were present during the trials, which were held under the overall supervision of DSO (K), Arjun Awardee Krupali Singh. The Wushu Association of J&K has proposed a pre-participation coaching camp at Jammu/Srinagar, keeping in view the examination schedule of the selected players. The J&K team is scheduled to leave for Chennai on October 25, 2026. The Wushu Association of J&K expressed its gratitude to the members of the selection committee for conducting the selection trials fairly and successfully. The association also thanked the J&K Sports Council for its full cooperation and support in conducting the trials. |
