Early Times Report NEW DELHI, Oct 3: The National Capital saw a slight increase in the maximum temperature on Saturday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting sunny days for the next few days. Safdarjung, a representative of the city's weather, recorded a maximum temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees more than Friday and a minimum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degrees above normal and the same as the day before. Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 34.8 degrees Celsius, 0.7 degrees more than the day before and a minimum temperature of 22.6 degrees Celsius, 0.1 degree more than the day before; Lodhi Road recorded a minimum of 22.4 degrees Celsius; Ayanagar recorded a minimum of 22.8 degrees Celsius. "Mostly clear skies are expected to persist for the next few days," said an IMD official. According to the IMD forecast, the maximum is likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The minimum temperature is likely to be around 23 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the air quality index (AQI) of the city remained in the moderate category on Saturday and the 24-hour average AQI was recorded at 171 (moderate) at 4 pm, as compared to the 24-hour average AQI of 174 (moderate) recorded at the same time on Friday, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). As per CPCB standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor', and 401-500 'severe'. |
