| Rajouri Cricket: Danshabad XI wins by 81 runs | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, June 21: Sailing on a superb batting by Asif Mustafa, Danshabad XI today entered into the quarterfinals beating Darhal XI by 81 runs in the ongoing Rajouri District Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here.
Batting first after winning the toss, Danshabad XI set a target of 199 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 30 overs, which, in reply, Darhal XI could not chase and lost all their wickets for 117 runs in 25.1 overs.
Asif Mustafa was top scorer with 50 (off 44 balls, 8x4) runs while Alyas Wani and Naseem Malik contributed 30 and 29 runs respectively. From Darhal XI, Ismail Malik clinched two wickets and Tahir took one.
Later, chasing a target of over six runs per over, Darhal XI could not maintain the required run rate and lost wickets on regular intervals to end up the innings at 117 runs in 25.1 overs.
Imran Shah was top scorer with 24-ball 28 runs, followed by Nadeem and Ismail Malik, who contributed 14 and 10 runs respectively.
Mehmood Choudhary was most successful bowler from Danshabad XI with three for 30 in six overs. Muzammil and Zubair Malik bagged two and one wicket respectively.
Asif Mustafa was adjudged man of the match for his fine innings. Today’s match was officiated by Vijay Kumar and Sarfraz Din. Anwar Choudhary and Nazir Ahmed were scorers.
