| Delay in releasing DA installment accumulate financial burden on Govt: Shastri | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 22: President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri has appealed the chief minister Omar Abdullah to release the pending installment of 6% D.A due from January last in favour of state government employees and pensioners as the same have already been released by the central and other state governments to their employees and pensioner since long. Addressing NMC workers rally at R.S Pura last evening Shastri urged Abdullah to formulate the policy where under DA installments are released in favour of its employees and pensioners of J&K state along with the central government. He said delay in releasing DA installments accumulate financial burden on the government on one hand and increases the hardship of the salaried class on the other. Pleading the cause of daily rated workers, casual labourers, adhoc, consolidated and contractual employees, Shastri emphasized for their time bound regularization. He said the implementation of the sixth pay commission report has developed a good rapport between the government and the employees and also urged CM to consider removal of anomalies in the SRO-93 to satisfy all section of the salaried class. He demanded that the arrears on account of 6th pay commission implementation be released in two installments. In the rally several resolutions were adopted which included release of wages of motivators working in IWDP besides their regularization, conversion of COLA into DA of PSU employees, timely release of wages, issuance of order of 180 daily wagers working in rural development department, regularization of services of the employees working in sericulture and other departments. Among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochar, Sham lal Sharma, Barkat Ram and others.
