| Man, wife electrocuted to death in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 22 : Tragedy visited a family when the only bread earner of the house and his wife died after electrocution in remote village Laswara in tehsil Bishnah on city outskirts.
Deceased Jagdev Singh, 35, who used to work as a polish-man in a furniture house and was the lone earner for his family, died when he received an electric shock yesterday at his residence in village Laswara.
''When the deceased's wife Balwinder Kaur found her husband lying unconscious, she immediately tried to wake him up but the moment she touched iron stairs, she also received the electric shock and fell down,'' police, the version of other family members said.
A short circuit due to an open electric wire near the iron stairs was stated to be the reason behind the tragedy, police added. The couple was survived by three children and parents.
