| Valley minorities form youth forum ‘KMF’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, June 22: With a view to fight for their rights, minorities presently living in valley have formed a youth forum in the name and style of Kashmir Minority Forum. The statement issued here on Monday said that the Forum is constituted by the various factions of the Society to make it a single platform for all the minorities living in the Valley, which will initiate its working for the welfare of minorities living in the valley. The statement said that it was neglect of valley minorities at the hands of government since last twenty years has forced them to form a youth forum which would fight for the basic rights of minorities living in the vally. He said that even the Right to Live was put under a big question mark due to the step-motherly treatment of the successive Governments of the State and Centre. He added that the local politicians were treating the minorities as second class citizens and never miss a chance to cash our miseries for their petty political gains. He said that the newly constituted Forum would fight against the Human Rights Violation against the Minorities in the Valley and would safeguard the interests and fundamental rights of Minorities in the Kashmir Valley. He said the Forum would impress upon the Central and State Governments for budgetary support for minorities in the Valley, which includes employment, establishment of minority institutions, re-construction of minority religious places, business establishments, and Government sponsored re-building programmes, financial support for BPL families. It would impress upon the government for special budgetary allocations for financial support of those suffering from serious ailments, he said and added that it would also strengthen relations with the Majority Community and start serious dialogue with them to assure safe existence of Minorities in the Valley.
