Inter-School tournament Gundana Zone concluded

DODA, JUNE 22 : The Department of Youth Services and Sports organized first ever Inter-School tournament of Gundana zone at Gundana which concluded today here at Government Higher Secondary School Mohalla.
The tournament was held for U-14 and U-17 age categories in 300 students both boy as well as girl students of various schools of Gundana zone participated in Volleyball, Kabaddi, and Kho-Kho disciplines. The final results are In U-17 Volley ball Boys HSS Barshalla beat HSS Jatheli 2-0, while as in U-14 Volleyball Boys MS Khankote beat MS Assassi 2-0, similarly in Kho-Kho U-17 Boys category HS Shadiwan beat HS Barshala by a margin of two points, and in U-14 Kho-Kho Boys MS Parsholla beat MS Battal by a margin of two points. The Kabaddi title U-14 category was won by MS Assassi who beat MS Mohalla by big a margin of 14 points. In Kho-Kho U-14 girls category MS Battal beat MS Dangroo by a margin of 1 point only.
The tournament was held under the supervision of Sh. Mool Raj Uttam Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZEPO) Gundana. While speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the achievements being made by the department in the region and said that these tournaments are being organized with the aim to boost the sports culture, physical strength and personality of students. He also said that the sports activities also strengthen the moral and ideological values of the students which enable them to be a responsible citizen in life.
The people of the area lauded the efforts of the ZEPO Gundana and thanked Department of Youth Services and Sports for organizing these tournaments in remote and backward zone of Doda District.
