Hundreds take holy dip on Amavasya at Davika Ghat in Udhampur

Udhampur June22- Hundreds of pilgrims took a holy dip at the holy Davika ghat today on the occasion of Samiri Amavasya, the most auspicious bath of the year.
The pilgrims started taking the dip at the start of Simiri Amavasya. Hundreds of pilgrims which include men and women surged towards the Davika to be in time for the holy dip. Pilgrims were raising slogans like “Har-Har Mahadev” and “Jai Maa Davika and later, performed “aarti” of the Davika . The devotees bathe in the river and offer prayers for the well being of their families. They also offer fruits and food to the priests and poor and pray to Goddess Davika.
Meanwhile, the locals criticized the administration for not making any security or other arrangements on the occasion. They charged the administration for growing pollution at Davika despite high court direction in this regard
