RAJOURI, June 22: Nowshera-A registered a 19 runs victory over Kalakote-A to enter the semi-finals of Rajouri District Cricket Tournament organised by District Cricket Committee under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at Sports Stadium, here today.
Rajan Sharma played a key role in Nowshera victory making highest 43 runs and then clinched four wickets in a low scoring quarterfinal.
Batting first after winning the toss, Nowhera-A lost all their wickets at a score of 120 in 21.4 overs of the 30 overs game. Rajan Sharma played a fine knock of 43 (off 37 balls, 9x4) runs while Baljit Singh and Rajesh Anand contributed 20 and 11 runs respectively. From Kalakote-A, Chetan Singh clinched three wickets giving away 11 runs. Vikram Singh and Mohd. Farooq shared two wickets each.
Later, chasing the target, Kalakote-A bowled out for 101 run in 21.3 overs. Mohd Farooq and Amit Khajuria contributed 16 and 15 runs respectively while Pankush Manhas played a patient innings of 17 runs. Rajan Sharma and Amit Dutta took four wickets each from Nowshera.
Rajan Sharma was named man of the match for his all round performance. Mehmood Choudhary and Nazir Ahmed were umpires in today’s match while Anwar Choudhary maintained the score.
