| Reasi police launches strict enforcement drive against old & unroadworthy vehicles | | | Early Times Report REASI, Oct 24: In a strong enforcement initiative aimed at enhancing road safety and protecting the lives of commuters, District Police Reasi has intensified its crackdown on old, unsafe and unroadworthy vehicles plying on roads across the district. During the last two days, 124 vehicles were challaned and 16 vehicles were seized for various violations detected during checking. The enforcement action was undertaken to prevent vehicles that are mechanically unsafe, poorly maintained or otherwise unfit for road use from posing a danger to commuters and other road users. District Police Reasi has urged vehicle owners to ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy, properly maintained and compliant with all prescribed safety requirements. Vehicle owners have also been advised to keep valid documents, including fitness certificates, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates and other mandatory documents, and to strictly adhere to traffic rules. Police have cautioned that operating unroadworthy vehicles not only violates prescribed regulations but can also endanger the lives of passengers, pedestrians and other road users. Owners and drivers have therefore been advised to immediately rectify mechanical deficiencies and refrain from operating vehicles that are not fit for safe operation. District Police Reasi reiterates that public safety remains its top priority. Strict enforcement against traffic violations and vehicles found unsafe or unfit for operation will continue across the district. The general public has been urged to cooperate with the police, maintain their vehicles in roadworthy condition and contribute collectively towards making the roads of Reasi safer for everyone. |
