AWANTIPORA, Oct 26: Continuing its efforts to curb drug abuse, Awantipora Police registered a case against a person who was found in an intoxicated state during patrolling at Dogripora along the Jhelum bund.
The police party of Police Post Reshipora, headed by Incharge Police Post SI Meheraj-ud-Din, found the individual in an intoxicated state and brought him to PHC Panzgam for medical testing. The urine drug screening test returned positive for THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), a psychoactive substance found in cannabis.
The person has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar S/o Gh. Mohd Dar, R/o Syed Rehmania Astan, Lam, Nishat.
Accordingly, FIR No. 249/2026 under relevant sections of NDPS act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora, and further investigation has been taken up.
