REASI, Oct 26: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Reasi Police recovered 8.7 grams of heroin (chitta) from two persons, including a male and a female, during naka checking at Balni, Katra.
On October 24, 2026, at about 2020 hours, a police party of Police Station Katra, while conducting naka checking at Balni, intercepted one male and one female person approaching the naka point on foot. During checking and frisking, 4.5 grams of heroin was recovered from Sunil Kumar S/o Yash Paul R/o Sughar, PO Khail, District Udhampur, while 4.2 grams was recovered from Rekha Devi W/o Subash Chander R/o Kundrian, near Shiv Ram Hotel, Katra, District Reasi.
Accordingly, FIR No. 333/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra, and further investigation has been initiated to establish the backward and forward linkages of the accused and identify other persons involved in the drug trafficking network.
