| S K XI beats Sunderbani-B, enters semis | | District Rajouri Cricket Tournament | | Early Times Report Rajouri, June 23: Despite a brilliant knock from Akashvir Singh, Sunderbani-B lost to S K Eleven in the quarterfinals of ongoing District Rajouri Cricket Tournament organised under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sports Stadium, here today. The S K XI defeated Sunderbani-B by a margin of 22 runs to enter the semi-finals. Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, S K XI made 172 runs losing all their wickets in 29.4 overs. Yawar Mir was top scorer with 48 runs including a six and five boundaries while Zahid and Rameez added 28 and 22 runs respectively. From Sunderbani-B, Sumit Khajuria was most successful bowler with four for 21 in six overs. Ankush Sharma also bowled well taking away three wickets for 26 runs. Later, chasing the target, Sunderbani-B could not attain the goal despite a superb knock from Akashvir Singh, who made 67 (off 73 balls, 8x4) runs. Akashvir’s efforts go waste as he could not get needed support from other end. Varun Raina was second highest runs getter with 11. Faizan bowled well for S K XI and clinched three wickets giving away 19 runs. Shaheen and Rameez shared two each. Yawar Mir, who made 48 runs for the winners was declared man of the match. Today’s quarterfinal was officiated by Vijay Kumar and Nazir Ahmed as umpires while Anwar Choudhary was scorer. NEXT MATCH: Eleven Star to take on Sunderbani-A in quarterfinals tomorrow at 7.30 am.
