| 3 pilgrims, 2 CRPF troopers on yatra route | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 23: Three pilgrims died at the Amarnath cave after performing darshan of the Shiv-Lingam, police sources said. In a separate incident, two CRPF personnel were killed and four other injured in a road accident near Baltal, base camp of holy Amarnath shrine. Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 2073 yatris left Jammu today for Baltal base camp to perform darshan at the holy cave. Police sources said that Lekh Ram (62), of Rajasthan and (75) year Mangma of Andhra Pradesh died at the cave on Monday night after they had the darshan of the cave while another pilgrim identified as 37-year-old Rakesh Kumar, of Amritsar died at Sangam top en route to the holy cave on Monday. All the three pilgrims died after suffering heart attack, the sources added. Meanwhile, a fresh batch of over 10,420 pilgrims proceeded towards the Shrine from the Baltal base camp in Ganderbal district on Tuesday morning while another batch of 2,073 pilgrims left Jammu for the Baltal base camp in Sonamarg. Police sources said the fresh batch of yatris was allowed to proceed towards Baltal after the weather conditions improved considerably. A CRPF spokesman, P Tripathi told said that a CRPF vehicle carrying troops escorting pilgrims had a head-on collison with a bus at Gangengar. He said six CRPF personnel were injured who were later shifted to hospital. Mr Tripathi said two CRPF personnel identified as P Sudhakar and P chandrashekar died in hospital.
