Jammu, Nov 5: Under the BJP's Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, the Swadeshi Apnao, Vocal for Local campaign is being actively promoted across Jammu South district. The primary objective of this initiative is to take the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for Swadeshi and a self-reliant India to every household, while encouraging local products, small-scale industries, traders and traditional artisans.Speaking on the occasion, BJP District Jammu South Publicity Secretary Pardeep Sharma said that Swadeshi is not merely a campaign but a powerful people's movement aimed at strengthening India's economy, generating employment and promoting self-reliance. By giving preference to products manufactured in India, citizens directly contribute to the economic growth of local traders, small industries, artisans, women entrepreneurs and youth.
Specially highlighting the significance of the upcoming festival of Diwali, Pardeep Sharma said that Diwali is a festival of happiness, light and prosperity. On this auspicious occasion, every citizen should take a pledge to purchase more Swadeshi and locally manufactured products. He appealed to people to purchase earthen diyas made by local potters, decorative items crafted by local artisans, traditional pottery, handicrafts, sweets from neighbourhood shops, glI (Puja) essentials, candles, festive decoration materials, Khadi and Indian-made garments, along with locally manufactured products of Jammu and Kashmir.
Such purchases will provide direct financial support to local shopkeepers, small business owners and traditional artisans, while strengthening their livelihoods.
Pardeep Sharma further stated that if every Indian family gives preference to Indian-made products over imported alternatives during festivals, it will help increase the circulation of money within the country, encourage small industries and create new employment opportunities for the youth.
Even a small purchase made by an individual can become significant financial support for a local family.
He also appealed to women and youth to actively participate in this campaign and motivate their families, friends and members of society to adopt Swadeshi products. He encouraged people to use social media platforms to promote local products and support small businesses.
