A fresh batch of 1,541 pilgrims today left for Amarnath cave shrine from Yatri Niwas base camp at Bhagwati Nagar here, an official spokesman said.
Amid tight security cover today, a convoy of 53 vehicles comprising 25 buses of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC), 10 private buses, 18 light motor vehicles, left for holy shrine at 0500 hrs, the spokesman said.
There were 337 women, 49 children and 188 Sadhus in this batch of 1541 Amarnath pilgrims, the spokesman informed.
