| JMC continue drive for ensuing proper sanitation in markets | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 27: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) while continuing the drive for ensuring proper sanitation in the markets carried out checking in various areas of the city. The health officer along with food inspectors, Sanitary Inspectors visited various areas falling within the jurisdiction of JMC to take stock of sanitary conditions prevailing in the areas. During the visit 100 challans were filed against various shopkeepers under the provision of municipal corporation act, 2000 for creating in-sanitary conditions. Eight NC sops at Dal Wali Gali, for checking. The commissioner, municipal corporation, has issued strict instruction to the health wing (JMC) to carry out regular inspection of food activities of shopkeepers, manufacturers etc. and to conduct checking of food establishment in their respective wards to ensure that relevant provisions of IFA Act, 1954 and rule there under are satisfied in the public interest and defaulters if found are challenged in the court of law for violations. The health officer also appealed the shopkeepers to keep dust bins in their business establishment for the collection of waste material falling which action under law for creating in-sanitary conditions shall be taken against them.
