| IED at GMC; Police team returns empty handed from Hyderabad | | | Jammu, Sep 26 A special team of Jammu and Kashmri Police which was deputed to Hyderabad to investigate the attempt of suspected militants to blow up Government Medical College Hospital Jammu with an Improvised Explosive Device has returned empty-handed. However, the investigation conducted so far was reportedly pointing fingers about the involvement of some Poonch based militants behind the conspiracy. Well informed sources in the police department told News Agency of Kashmri that DySP (probationary) Mr Salaria and In-charge Police Post Canal Road ASI Parvez were deputed to Hyderabad following the recovery of the IED. The bag in which the IED was planted was having the tag of shopkeeper in Hyderabad, which forced the senior officers to depute a team to the area. “However, the team has returned empty handed as the shop where from the bag was purchased has been closed about two years back”, sources said adding; “At least no involvement of any Hyderabad resident was established during the investigation so far”. If sources have to be believed, the investigating conducted so far in the case point fingers towards the involvement of some Poonch based militants. “Though it was established that the IED was sent from Poonch to Jammu the clear name of the militants behind the conspiracy was yet to be established”, sources added. They said that a team would also be sent to Poonch if something concrete comes out. “Senior police officers are themselves monitoring the investigation and if they desire a team would be sent to Poonch as well”, added the sources. |
