| JU Professor interact at European Universities | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 28- Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Director, International Centre for Cross – Cultural Research and Human Resource Management and Professor The Business School University of Jammu returned after visiting Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK and the Technical University, Cluj - Napoca Romania. The visit has been extremely useful and is expected to yield academic benefits at institutional level. Prof. Rohmetra attended the 10th International Conference on HRD Practice and Research across Europe on the theme “HRD: Complexity and Imperfection in HRD” at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, UK wherein she chaired the Symposium on “Methodological and Theoretical Issues in HRD: A European Perspective”. She also presented the Research Paper entitled “Human Resource Systems and Organizational Effectiveness. She also undertook her maiden visit to Cluj Napoca, Romania under the MOU between University of Jammu and Technical University, Cluj Napoca. She said the visit has been valuable in view of finalizing modalities for the proposed joint certificate course on “International Cross – Cultural Management” beginning October/ November 2009. During her visit Prof. Rohmetra held formal interactions with Rector Prof. dr. ing. Radu Munteanu, Prorector, Prof. dr. ing. Aurel Vlaicu and Director, International Relations Prof. dr. ing. Vasile Topa. The deliberations centered around various possibilities of joint research collaborations, joint PG Certificate Course in International Cross Cultural Management, Executive MBA, Management Development Programs for the software Romanian Managers as special need /interest area and the students’ recruitment and exchange at both the Universities. The International Centre of Cross – Cultural Research and HRM at Jammu University has also initiated the research collaboration with Wolverhampton University Business School. The research collaboration is seen as one of the major accomplishments of the visit.
